Alpha - Operomanija

Winner of “The Golden Cross of the Stage” award in 2019. The comic strip opera “Alpha” is an eye and ear opener from the beginning to the end. The opera flirts with the ever topical themes of the strong woman and gender equality roles. The work explores the tragic story of the Spanish poet and dramatist‘s Federico García Lorca‘s disappearance of which his sister Isabel is trying to resolve.

“MEGAfeminine” …as once dubbed by its director, stage and costume designer Dr. GoraParasit, the opera is an orgy of comics, fetishes, digital culture with an expressive libretto and is backed by Albertas Navickas‘ music, which is inspired by minimalist and flamenco aesthetics. This fusion… “the bullet of truth loaded into a revolver of betrayal”, hits the bull in the eye, touching each, everyone and everything.
